- Distribute and install one million water efficient shower heads rated at 1.5 gpm across the five boroughs of New York City as well as two million water efficient faucet aerators rated at a minimum of 1.5 gpm.
- Elucidate the public to the consequences of current water consumption practices and offer realistic alternatives in the hopes of lowering each individual’s water consumption.
- Effectively implement this project in every major city across the nation and eventually the globe, thereby lowering global urban water consumption 20% - 40% within the next 25 years.
The UHCG is requesting the support and consultation of environmentally conscientious organizations and donors. It is my hope that your support, both financially and intellectually, will lead to the successful completion of our objectives. Funding will be used to finance the initial start up costs of the project. These costs include inventory stock, advertising, and miscellaneous overhead expenses. Intellectually stimulating individuals and or concepts derived from sister and parent organizations will be used to further streamline the operation of UHCG, acquire better managerial and financial practices, and increase the projects ability to implement change. As an individual or organization aware of the consequences of water scarcity, it is only natural that we stand together in an effort to help alter the way humanity consumes water. It is a mutually beneficial endeavor to all parties involved.
Current projections for UHCG’s first annual budget is based on a required distribution of 300 water efficient shower heads and 600 water efficient faucet aerators/adapters over a period of no longer than two months. These two month distribution windows are known as cycles. Under this model we estimate our first annual projection to be:

It is important to note that this project operates on a zero profitability platform. Every cycle’s net profit is invested into the upcoming cycle’s revenue. This allows the project’s Green Campaign fund and Environmental Conservation Fund to grow at a much faster rate than would be possible if these profits were being invested elsewhere. This is why the end of year projections show a net profit of only $2,279.62, this is the previous cycle’s net profit that is yet to be invested into the organization.
In order for UHCG to exist, it will require $3,000 for start up costs relating to inventory and marketing. Another $1,000 will be necessary to cover legal fees, web design and implementation, and distribution strategies. This initial investment will allow UHCG to maintain its yearly projection as long as our distribution maintains pace with our mandated cycle period. A higher initial investment will undoubtedly allow the UHCG to exceed it’s initial projections. Any funding received in excess of our initial requirement will be considered a donation and will be used in a manner consistent with Urban Hydrological Conservation Group’s objectives and belief that all homes must save water.
In an ideal scenario a grant given to UHCG will fund the project until its future board of directors terminates the group after completion of our three objectives. This is estimated to be anywhere between 15 - 30 years. In the event of a severe shortage of capital all measures shall be taken to shift the burden from investors and grantees to our organization’s Petty Bank, Emergency Fund, and Salary allotments.
The importance of water conservation within our urban metropolises can not be understated. It is imperative that we do all that can be done. It is my hope that UHCG can commence changing the way New York City treats its water supply. Separating our organization into three phases allows UHCG to tackle the problem of water conservation today instead of tomorrow, there can be no better time to make a difference then today so why wait. Thank you very much for your time. Please feel free to contact me any time day or night.
